April 17th has been named National Mustang Day and individuals and clubs from all over the world will hit the road to celebrate the iconic muscle car. The goal of the National Mustang Day is to simply unite all of the Mustang enthusiasts, by driving their Mustang. Imagine one day a year, the Mustangs are everywhere!
All serious fans know April 17th is the birth date of the Mustang and was first shown to the automotive world at the New York World's Fair by Henry Ford II. This happened in Flushing Meadows, New York in 1964. That same day, Ford debuted the “pony car” in their showrooms all across America. Ford sold more than 400,000 Mustangs within its first year of production, far exceeding sales expectations.
Mustang clubs everywhere plan drives, cruise-in’s, fundraisers, activities, and awards for their membership. Check your local club and find out what is going on in your area and join in the fun!
